Now it comes to Eco club's fool or fact for today. Is it true that about 15 billion trees are cut down each year worldwide? Stay tuned and we will reveal the answer at the end!
The Eco club made an Eco resolution board in the atrium. Let's put our brains together and come up with some eco-friendly tips that will make our world a greener place! All throughout April, the eco club will be holding an art and photography competition. You can submit through our email. This year's theme is 'a plant's perspective'. If you have any great ideas, start drawing! You will win excellent prizes at the end of the competition!Today, Eco club will be holding an online meeting at 4:30 pm. Back to the fool or fact! So, is it true that about 15 billion trees are chopped down each year? Yes, it is true! Over 60% of them are used for manufacturing paper. Everyone, why don't we use less paper handouts and save the earth together? https://mmbiz.qpic.cn/mmbiz_jpg/lcl3kfL7ibYeNM9LtfWiacibVu6iaVFMafMrzFxnstQATZiaIKzNianLW6TFicefKmSeCK8MHQeFjvzt0RrPFaIbXZQwg/640?wx_fmt=jpeg

Today's fool or fact is a very simple question. Why is the sky blue? Stayed tuned at the end if you don't know the answer!
Eco club is hosting a new initiative this year called the recycling station. Our main goal is to eliminate daily garbage bag compost and remove garbage bins from the classroom. We have already set up trial stations in many areas. This might sound inconvenient in the beginning, but we can make anything possible from minor things. With your help, we can save 75 garbage bags every day, 375 in a week, and 13,500 a school year. In our system, we only use 10 loads everyday. This can be a big step towards a greener space in our school. Washroom bins will also be split into two, compost, which is paper towel only, and garbage only. Please don't throw any trash into compost. So let's make the world better, starting from the most minor things possible! Check out our social media account for Recycling Station and more Earth month info!
So, back to the beginning, why is the sky blue? It is because gases and particles on Earth scatter lights in all directions as known as Rayleigh scatter. The smallest wavelengths of light tend to scatter easier. But why isn't it violet? It's because the sun emits a higher concentration of blue light waves compared to violet, resulting in a blue hue in the sky!https://mmbiz.qpic.cn/mmbiz_jpg/lcl3kfL7ibYeNM9LtfWiacibVu6iaVFMafMrbWibEAkVq6QmbU4iboHlDTMs1EJxst8gbnmgNA0ObwTybxLGa8Hicic07g/640?wx_fmt=jpeg
